Sharks are known around the world as mindless beasts that kill anything on sight. In fact, many sharks don't attack on randomness. They will come close to you to inspect you. Basically, they wonder what you are meaning you are an alien towards them. They dont know what you are. The whale shark does not even attack you because it filter feeds on plankton and small fish, meaning it has no teeth. Some sharks only attack when they feel threatned because they sense the tension of people inside them. Sharks are able to sense electrical pulses from beating hearts of other animals miles away.

 History

Sharks have been on this planet around 200 milion years and have lived with dinosaurs! Meaning they are one of the oldest species to live on this planet in history. They even survived what killed off the existence of the dinosaurs off the face of the earth. Most characteristics of sharks have stayed the same during their evolution. Some sharks later on evolved into rays and some continued living almost the same. Sharks have faced many problems like running out of food, water is polluted and today's problem, us, mankind. We have been a problem ever since we became industrial because we dump polluters inot the water and we overfish by a mile. In Asia, we kill sharks for their fins to make shark fin soup. All we do is cut off the shark fins and throw them back in the water to die a painful death.

Facts

The Bull Shark lives mainly in coastal areas in warm oceans and, occasionally, rivers and lakes. Sharks usually cautious live in rivers which means bull sharks are adapted to live in both areas. People need to be more carious when swimming in freshwater and be on the lookout for sharks. They mainly eat fish and other sharks but also eat a variety of other animals like turtles, birds, animals that live on land that are swiming and crustaceans. The male weighs around 210 pounds are are 2.25 meters long. Female specimen weigh around 290 pounds and are 2.4 meters long. The record of the largest one caught was  around 4 meters long and weighed around 1200 pounds.

The Great White Shark is commonly known as the biggest predatory shark in the ocean today. They live usually in coastal and offshore waters around the globe and stay away from freshwater unlike its cousin the Bull Shark. The great white's diet consists of fish that are rather large like itself example: tuna. It also eats other sharks, turtles, birds, sea otters, seals and sea lions. The size of an adult male Great White is around 3 to 4 meters long and weighs around 600 to 1000 pounds as well as the female. The female's length is around 4 to 5 meters long. The record of the biggest one is about 2660 pounds and as long as 7 meters.

The Whale Shark is the biggest shark there is to know today. It is bigger than the Great White Shark but it does not prey on large fish but is rather a filter-feeder that feeds on krill and small fish it herds together to eat. The shark is almost considered a whale because of its size but is not a whale since it is not a mammal. The average adults are around 9.7 meters long and would weigh around 20.000 pounds or 20 tonnes. The record for the biggest one ever caught was around 12 meters long and weighed at around 46.000 pounds or 23 tons! Imagine that! That is a pretty heavy fish. They live in all tropical or warm water areas around the world.

The Tiger Shark is commonly close to coasts with warm water or tropical, subtropical waters around the world. Their diet is formed off of fish, crustaceans, dolphins, marine mammals, birds and mostly anything in the ocean. They will try to eat a dying whale or a dead whale when they are given the chance. The male Tiger Shark's range of weight is around 800 to 1200 pounds and is around 4 meters long. The female weighs around the same as the male but is around 1 meter longer than the male. They are known to eat many things that live in the ocean.

The Leopard Shark lives in cool to little warm waters in the northern hemisphere in the pacific ocean. Their diet consists of small fish and crustaceans like crabs, shrimp, anchovies, herring and countless other fish and crustaceans. Their size ranges around 1 to 1.5 meters long and weigh about 40 pounds. The leopard shark is relatively small compared to the great white shark or the whale shark.

The White-Tipped Shark live around the world in relatively warm waters but live deep in the open oceans. The range of the warmness is around 18 to 26 degrees Celsius  The White-tipped Shark's diet is consisted of squid, mammals, crustaceans and the occasional sea turtle or sea bird. As you could tell, the White-Tipped shark has white on the tips of its fins. The length of the White-Tipped is around 2.5 to 4 meters long and weighs around 350 pounds.

The Blue Shark tends to live in waters that range from cool to warm and live around every coast but obviously not near the coast of Antarctica since it is very cold there. It usually lives deeper in warm waters and higher to the surface in cool water. The Blue Shark's diet consists of crustaceans, cephalopods like squid and octopus and have been known to swim as fast as swordfish and tuna. It could also eat sword fish but it doesn't usually eat tuna. The male's length is usually around 1.7 meters to 2.3 meters long and weighs around 50 to 110 pounds. The larger female's length is around 2.1 meters to 3.1 meters long and weighs around 200 to 370 pounds.

The Hammerhead Shark is usually found in tropical and temperate waters around the globe usually very far offshore or near the beaches. Their diet consists of squids, octopus, crustaceans and smaller fish. They are considered harmless to humans because of the few attacks recorded by them. The male and the female's length are the same which ranges from 4 meters to around 6 meters long. They weigh around 450 to 1000 pounds.
